Seaside was sooo fun! To me, the funnest vacation I can remember! Steve, (Pat's dad) drove up from Colorado and picked us up and then continued on our way to Oregon. I wasn't sure how Lexi would do in the car for 12 hours but she did pretty well!! It helped that grandpa was in back entertaining her some of the time :o) It did take us two days to get there but it wasn't to bad of a drive since Pat drove the whole way. I had never met Pat's extended family (on his dad's side) before so it was super fun getting to know them. We spent 4 days in a beach house, literally right next to the ocean. The house was HUGE and amazing! The weather wasn't too bad but I wish it was a little warmer. We had to wear light jackets most days. But we spent the days laying in the sand, going in the water, building sand castles and other usuals at the beach. It was Lexi's second time going to a beach, but last time it was in Texas in November so she didnt get a chance to play in the sand or water very much. She absolutely LOVED the beaach!! She spent most of her time with Pat's cousin, Serena, who is 9 years old. When Lexi said her name it sounded like Freida, so that's what we called her. She helped "Freida" dig sand holes and burry things and just loved, loved, loved it all! We even flew a kite and Lex STILL talks about "flying the kite at the beach". Overall, it was just a nice and relaxing vacation on the beach with Pat's family. Oh and whenever Lexi says her prayers, she ALWAYS says "thank you for "Freida", and may also include "thank you for the beach". That vacation was obviously a huge hit with Lexi!! (And us too!;o)
Also, on September 9th school started again. I'm doing part-time again, so 9 credits. Last semester it worked out pretty well so I thought I'd do it again. This semester I'm taking the preschool lab practicum, which means I'm teaching in the preschool on campus. It is a TON of work but I already love it! I'm also taking another child development class for my major. Half way through the semester I will add another class, which will be a pregnancy class. I'm really looking forward to that class because I've heard many people say it is a really good class, and I'm always interesting in that kind of thing :o)
Pat is taking 13 credits but each of his classes are pretty hard, but I think he will do just fine. He is still deciding whether or not to switch his major to computer science (from business management). If he does we will be here for another 2 years or more, but I think he would enjoy it more and will hopefully find a job he actually WANTS to do once he graduates.
OH! AND... this Tuesday (September 21) Lexi gets to start going to her "Toddler School" on campus. I am sooo excited for her! I know she will have soo much fun! It's just two days a week for a little over an hour but I know she will have a blast!
Here are some pics of our Seaside trip...
